Leanne Burt - Library Aide

I am so excited to be working in the Vassiliadis school library, especially with brand new books!  I love to read and am looking forward to assisting students and faculty find what they need in the library.

I grew up in Salt Lake City Utah, and graduated from Snow College with my Associate of Applied Science degree in Computer Information Systems.  I worked as a computer operator and then programmer for about 15 years.  I loved my career; but when my children came, I chose to be a stay-at-home mom.  I am married to Alan, who is a wonderful husband and father.  We have two beautiful girls; Kaylee, who is currently attending BYU and studying to be a Social Worker and hoping to work with youth and children; and Kimberly, who is a sophomore at Palo Verde High School.

My husband’s job brought us to Las Vegas when our girls were young.  When our youngest was in First Grade at Bonner, I had the privilege of working as a Teacher’s Aide at the same school – and eventually with Mr. Catania.  I have worked at Bonner for 11 years, and look forward to continuing another amazing year with Mr. Catania, and all the other fantastic faculty, students, parents, and staff.

Currently, my oldest daughter is attending nursing school at Brightwood University and my youngest will be attending Palo Verde in the fall. In my spare time, I am a Lacrosse mom, enjoy scrapbooking, making cards, and spending time with my family. As a family, we enjoy watching football and hockey & supporting the Pittsburg Steelers and Pittsburg Penguins! My favorite quote is “Be the reason someone smiles today.”

I am so excited to be part of the Vassiliadis family!

Sally Ramirez - Special Program Teaching Assistant

Hello, my name is Sally  Ramirez and I have been with the Clark County School District for 11 years.  My initial experience with CCSD was working with a high school program called Mommy and Me, where I mentored teenage mothers and provided daycare for their children while they attended to their education.  For the past 9 years, I have been a teaching assistant to special education teachers specializing in autism.

I was born and raised in Rancho Cucamonga, CA and graduated from  Alta Loma High School.  I have been married for 37 years to my husband, Henry and we have two children and 6 grandchildren.  During the early years of our marriage, my husband was in the military and I was a stay at home mom; but I have always babysat for friends and family member's children.  After my stint as a stay at home mom, I finally joined the workforce at a daycare for and spent 7 years there.

Very early on in my life I knew my calling was to provide education and nurturing to children.  To see each and every one of those kids that I have interacted with and continue to interact is the biggest blessing in my life.  To know that I can make a difference in their lives just by being present and devoting my time and energy to their needs is very rewarding to me.

Kathy Ruffner - Special Program Teaching Assistant

I’m a longtime resident of Las Vegas, originally from Southern California. I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from Westmont College in Santa Barbara. My love of language prompted my study of Latin, Spanish, French and Greek. I’m the proud wife of a Veteran Navy Officer and the mother of two brilliant teenage daughters. I have an extensive background in the hotel and hospitality industry, having worked over two decades in properties such as Arizona Charlie’s, the Mirage, Treasure Island, Bellagio and Aria Resort. A career highlight was my ten years as the Assistant to the Entertainment Director of Cirque du Soleil’s “O” show, where I also had the opportunity to hire the musicians in Bellagio’s lounges.  On a personal note, I grew up with two siblings with special needs. They made a huge impact on the person I am today. This is why I am honored to be a part of the Vassiliadis Support Staff as an SPTA.

Heather Stuart - Intermediate Resource

My name is Heather Stuart and I am the Intermediate Resource Instructional Assistant to Ms. Stratton. Last year was my first with the Clark County School District and I couldn’t be happier to be a part of the Vassiliadis family. Before gaining my Cub pride, I was a manager at the Golden Entertainment Group for almost ten years. During that time I never enjoyed going to work as much as I do now. I love working with children and watching them grow and succeed is the most rewarding feeling. I am engaged to my best friend and we have two awesome children, Max (13) and Ebin (5).  We spend a lot of our time outdoors hiking, camping, going to the lake and playing baseball. I feel so fortunate to not only be at a 5 Star school but to work amongst the best staff, students, and parents. Go Cubs!!

Angela Dimalanta - Instructional Assistant

Greetings! My name is Angela Dimalanta. I am married to Randolf and we are proud parents of 5 wonderful children: Aisa-20, Iman Karin-18, Mayumi-17, Karisyo-11, and Halina-9. This year is going to be amazing with 5 kids at 5 different schools!  I have been in the school district for 15 years. I started as a stay-at-home-mom, became very involved in the PTA, started substitute teaching in the district and eventually taught 5th grade and 2nd grade in CCSD. With life’s changes, I have taken a new direction and am very excited to join the Vassiliadis Team this year.

I was born in Canada, but grew up mostly in the Bay Area in California. I have a BS in Sociology with a Minor in Women’s Studies from San Jose State University. I completed the Elementary Education Program at Santa Clara University and started teaching in California 25 years ago.  Randolf and I were married 22 years ago and started our family in Kansas City, where I taught 2nd grade for 2 years there until our first child was born. Sixteen years ago, we moved to Las Vegas. While raising our children, I was fortunate to return to school and complete my Masters in Education in Health Promotion at UNLV.

When time allows, I am cooking, baking, running, exploring the outdoors, singing, and spending time with family and close friends. I am a Certified Hot Hula Fitness Instructor which brings my heart and soul much joy!  I am thrilled to be a part of this amazing family of educators and administrators! I look forward to working side by side with the best of the best!

Alexis Bisplinghoff - Special Education

Hello fellow Cubs! I am Ms. Alexis and I work with Ms. Truzzolino in Primary Autism.

This is my fourth year with CCSD and my second full year here at Vassiliadis.  Previously, I was a SPTA at Variety Specialty School, until I was hired here in February 2018. Helping children has always been my passion and I am overjoyed to have made it my career.

I am the proud mother of two amazing boys. Ayden is in 9th grade at Palo Verde and Cody is a 4th grader here at our very own Vassiliadis. These boys are my life and I enjoy every minute of being their mother. We love to cook, hike, play board games, go to the park, and play sports.
